You cannot expect to get that which you are not willing to freely give. That sounds somewhat unfair, doesn’t it? I mean why should we have to give anything in order to get anything, right? This concept applies to our daily lives and is rarely given very little thought. How many times have we made a purchase in good faith believing it was everything we were led to believe it was only to be sadly disappointed? We are outraged, angry and demand a refund. It doesn’t matter what we purchased, how much, or how little it costs if anything at all. If we order food a certain way that is exactly what we expect to get. If we read a sign on the door of a business that states they will be open at 8:00 am that is what we expect not 8:01. Everything has to be exactly what we expect it to be or there will be some sort of retribution to follow. Yet for some reason, this rule seems only to apply to everyone but ourselves. Naturally, I mean how does anyone expect us to make any money, or make it through the day if we deliver what everyone is led to believe they can expect out of us? You are hired on as an employee for a certain amount of money paid for a particular amount of work performed in a set amount of time. Yet you feel it is acceptable to come to work a few minutes late, leave a few minutes early and cruise through the day doing as little as possible. Your customer is counting on you to deliver a product in a professional manner with a professional result in the end. You know what it takes to do this yet you have to cut every possible corner to make it appear to them they are getting what they expected while you make as much money as possible. So many are so quick to complain about exactly the same things they do themselves on a daily basis. You cannot expect to get that which you are not willing to give. Everything that people claim to despise, in all reality they are themselves. If you tell someone you are going to give them one thing no matter if it is a product or a service and in truth, you give them less. You are a liar, a thief, and a cheat. Until we truly live our lives with morals, integrity, and honesty we can never truly be loyal to ourselves, each other, or the values our country was built on. If you wait for someone else to make the first move you will never see change. Make the move, be the example others wish to emulate, or continue to be everything you claim to despise and choose to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Stealing is stealing, lying is lying, and cheating is cheating. There is no right in these wrongs.
