Working Women

Just like the male counterparts she puts on her jeans and crew-neck tee-shirt and heads to work. Only the moment she walks on the job, heads are turning, guys whistling or going out of their way to cross her path. She is approached and propositioned by single men and married men alike. All-day she struggles to perform her job to the best of her abilities in order to keep her job, consciously thinking about every move she makes so as not to give any of the men around her, a wrong impression, and shuffle her emotions aside to keep her composure. She stands in front of the mirror in the ladies’ room examining her outward appearance and asking herself what she could be doing wrong to be treated so disrespectfully? She is dressed no different than most of the guys, so what can it be? It isn’t her at all, is it? It’s the men that have no respect for you, themselves, or anyone else. These same men stand before their male friends and brag about the things they would do to a guy that hurt or disrespected their daughters. These same men look at their wives and swore an oath to love and cherish forsaking all others. These same men take their families to church giving praise and prayer hypocritically portraying a Christian man. I wonder how a man like this can hold his young daughter in his arms swearing on his life to protect her all of her life while disrespecting another man’s daughter? I wonder how a man can ever claim to be a real man when nothing that a real man is known for is represented by him. He has no valor, he has no chivalry, no respect, no integrity. He is far from honest or one that his family could ever look up to. He is in every sense of the word no more than, if even barely the shadow of a real man. Those males that condone such behavior or find humor in it are no better. You scream respect, demand respect yet when it comes to giving what you demand. It easily eludes your simple minds. A real hero will stand up for what is right, defend the helpless and be an example worthy of others to emulate. No one, female or otherwise will be mistreated, disrespected, or bullied in my presence as long as there is a breath in me… I challenge you to MAN up too.
