You are Coming through the door at the department store. You have a baby in its car seat carrier in one hand and a huge bag of baby items in the other. A dozen or more people of all ages are walking through the door just before you. You try to walk a little faster but it wasn’t fast enough…the door closes in front of you. You are thinking…how rude and thoughtless people are these days. You are just pulling out from one of those fast-food drive-through places along a busy street waiting to enter the street in hopes of getting to your destination in time to eat your meal before it gets cold. You would think that since there is a traffic light just two blocks up everyone has to stop at any way they could at least stop just short of the driveway you are trying to exit so that you can get out. Only that doesn’t happen until about the fourth traffic light you wait through. You are thinking… how rude and thoughtless people are these days. So much for fast food. You are traveling out of town to visit some relatives you have not seen in years. All of a sudden there is a terrible noise and you notice the temperature of your car getting hotter and hotter so you pull off to the shoulder of the highway. You see smoke or steam coming from under the hood of your car so not knowing what is wrong you turn it off and quickly get your infant daughter out of the car as well. You don’t have any friends or family in the area, no phone book in your car, the temperature outside is well under 40 degrees you are panicking and don’t know what to do. You pace up and down beside your smoking car holding your crying baby hoping someone will stop to help. Maybe at least offer to get you and your baby out of the cold. But it doesn’t happen until hours later when your phone is dead and you felt helpless and hopeless all alone stranded in the middle of nowhere. I could give you so many of these scenarios that I have actually seen over and over almost every day. Some I have even read about and the statements I read by others made me sick. Comments like “no one opens doors for me”. Or “Ha Ha you aren’t getting in front of me bi**ch”. Or “This does not save the world, get over it. Hell everyone has a cell phone… call someone”. Do you realize… is it beyond your ability to comprehend that all these things that could very well happen to YOU as well will never be any different because of the example YOU set? Can you in all honesty say that you have never needed any help? Can you honestly say that no one has ever held a door open for you, stopped to let you in traffic, or pulled over to offer assistance when you were broken down on the side of the road? How can you possibly accept any of these gracious, thoughtful, selfless things in good conscious knowing full well that you would never give or do any of them in return? I have said many times that you cannot expect to get that which you are not willing to freely give. But people do it every day. Good people will always be good people and be taken advantage of by those that are heartless, selfish, and openly take far more than they will ever give. There is no need for you to let that upset you in the least. You keep on doing what you do. You put yourself above all others in your life. When you think that you are all alone when you feel helpless, and hopeless one of us selfless, thoughtful, caring and compassionate people you make fun of will come to YOUR rescue too.
Everything that you do and say is a reflection of you.
Simply my thoughts
