Hypocrisy

The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform. I’m sure we have all had our own experience with one or more hypocrites. I know I have. They are not difficult to find at all. Most of them congregate in a church on Sundays. The others have a Bible in one hand and the ever-pointing finger of judgment in the other. They Speak often of verses from a Bible while living not even one. They are quick to point out the faults of others and stand knee-deep in other people’s business. While hiding their own faults, casting blame on others, while neglecting even their basic responsibilities. Of course, while in church on Sunday they mumble a little prayer, asking for forgiveness of their many transgressions. Believing all is forgiven they go on about their merry way pointing out the transgressions of others somehow they believe are not forgiven. They preach to you as if ordained by the all-mighty himself. Telling you all that you should do or be doing with your life. They stand before their congregation and before God giving false testimony to who they truly are, and what they truly know. They make promises today and excuses tomorrow. Of course, none of it applies to them, they are perfect. Whatever you think they did wrong by you was NOT their fault. It will be your fault or the fault of the product. He/she will look you straight in the eye and lie. They are quick to tell you how it is better to forgive, while they harbor unjust ill feelings towards those that have only done right by them. Parents that produce children after a night of being fruitful, bathing in the sin of lust, condemn the child blaming them for their own self-inflicted hardships. They tell you how you should raise your children while their own children are being raised by someone else without any help at all financially or otherwise from them. Or maybe they do not even have a child, making them an experienced expert of course. They are quick to instruct you on how you should manage your money. While they have no money of their own to manage. Yet they spend every waking moment of their days trying to devise a way to get yours, or maybe make you feel guilty because you have money and they do not. Hoping your good heart will give to them freely so they can laugh at your stupidity behind your back. It is truly sad that the most judgmental are those that are preaching to not be judgmental. Those that are most lacking in morals are the very ones that sit in a church on Sunday yelling amen and hallelujah. You do not have to be in a church every day to be a good person. You do not have to pretend you know God’s words to impress someone else. People, just like God, can see your heart. They can see who is real, and who is fake. In the end, the real truth will be known no matter what you or anyone else chooses to believe. You get what you give, give wisely my friend.
