Simply my Thoughts By: Dean Butler
I am not a sheep. Sheep have been known to be great followers. They are by nature very social. They follow so blindly that should one sheep jump off a cliff to its death, if they are not stopped, every sheep in the herd will follow to the exact same demise. I have seen firsthand […]
Unheard means that something has in fact not been heard. Once you hear it, however, it can never be unheard again. So if you tell someone you profess to love with all of your heart, “I hate you”, out of anger. Your love will never be what it once was, nor will it ever know […]
It is another hot summer day in July, you are pulling out from the parking lot of a local fast-food establishment onto a busy street. There is a traffic signal just up the road so it shouldn’t be too difficult. When everyone has to stop, surely someone will see you trying to exit into the […]
Beware, my friend, as you pass by, as you are now so once was I. As I am now so shall you be, prepare therefore to follow me. Yesterday I was younger than I am today, and tomorrow I will be older than I am today. This will have applied to my life and yours […]

It is sad that the non-drug, non-criminal elements in our country can’t have some of the same values, ethics, loyalty, and determination the drug dealers, addicts, and criminal elements do. In the drug and criminal world, they look out for each other, they warn each other of any possible harm coming their way, they are […]
I saw a little boy today standing in the checkout line with his mom. He must have been at least 3 years old and as handsome as could be. I smiled and waved at him as he looked my way. He quickly waved back only with his middle finger protruding from a fist. I could […]
Assume: to think that something is true or probably true without knowing that it is true. I fixed dinner for you but you didn’t show up. When you said, you would be coming over, I assumed you meant today. That man is an outstanding member of our church, I feel I can really trust him. […]
Everyone seems to be real big on criminal background checks these days. So let’s look at it from another perspective. Your chances of hiring a criminal are probably greater when you hire a person that has NO criminal records. There are many, many people out there from ALL walks of life, that are guilty of […]
