Don’t stereotype me

So you want people to look past your outward appearance? You don’t want to be judged simply because you like ink, skin art, piercings, or tattoos. Did you ever stop to ask yourself, maybe it isn’t the tattoos after all? Maybe it is the split personality that others have told about you. Maybe it’s because you are known to stab those that help you in the back and show NO remorse. Maybe it is because you lie and do it so well that you believe your own lies. Maybe it is because you steal from your friends and family. And do so proudly Maybe just maybe all your relationships are so short because of YOUR shortcomings, not theirs. Maybe they realize they are not your slaves or owned by you. Maybe they realize they have as much right to be with friends and family as you do. Maybe they realize it wouldn’t take much to find someone to treat them better than you do. You want people to look up to you and respect you so you try diligently to find and keep a job. Pay your bills and various debts, take care of your children, and lead by example, right? Is that example you are setting, sitting at home all day playing on your phone while your girlfriend works to pays the bills? Only to come home and be accused of whatever you can dream up that you would be doing if you were in her place? You lie, you cheat, you steal, you deal and use drugs. I wonder if when you hold your son and or daughter, you hope with all that you are they grow up to be just like you? I wonder if when you sit at your family’s holiday dinner, you hold your head high gleaming with pride from all that you are and have accomplished? I wonder if you seriously believe that as long as you hold your children, tell them you love them, or make up some elaborate story about why you were in jail, or someone else was taking care of them in your absence everything will really be ok? Do you really believe you are treated the way you are, thought of the way you are because you have skin art? If so you are seriously delusional and should seek immediate medical attention. You are the reason people with tattoos ARE stereotyped. You are the reason skin art has a bad name. You are the reason your children will likely never know what it means to have a REAL loving father or mother. How is that for a thought? It’s not how you look, it’s what you do while you look like you do. You can’t so much change how you look so what do you do? I know….. How about changing…you?
