Beware, my friend, as you pass by, as you are now so once was I.
As I am now so shall you be, prepare therefore to follow me. Yesterday I was younger than I am today, and tomorrow I will be older than I am today. This will have applied to my life and yours from the very beginning, until the day my life ends. So many tend to forget about where they were on the age ladder of life. Many put very little thought into where they are going to be tomorrow on that same ladder. Young people are everything to hear most of them claim, while older people are nothing but a waste of space. I wonder if they will gladly relinquish that space they consume when they become old people. They are quick to make fun of them when they see older people struggle to do what comes easy to them. I wonder if they will still laugh with the younger people that will soon be laughing at them? They are quick to remind us of our age when some new method of solving a common problem comes up in school. While coming to us first when one comes up in life. No one comes into this world at the age you see them. If you are younger you can bet, they were your age once also. Surely this is not a scientific phenomenon that a youthful mind cannot comprehend? The younger generation seems always to be in a contest with the older generation. When it would be much better if they would work with them instead of against them. That thing you’re thinking about doing but are not sure of the outcome? Just ask an older person, chances are you’ll find one that has done it and can tell you exactly what the outcome will be. You see it only makes sense to me that a young person could get a whole lot further ahead in life if they didn’t waste so much time doing stupid things some older person has already done and can save them a whole lot of time, trouble, heartache, and maybe even pain if they were not so convinced they already know everything. Go to a retirement home, meet some older people, and let them tell you their stories, you’ll be surprised by what you will learn, and you’ll be making new friends as well. Because I can promise you one thing, there are two things in life that are guaranteed. One, you will live. Two, you will die. So………. Beware, my friend, as you pass by, as you are now so once was I. As I am now so shall you be, prepare therefore to follow me.
