Have you ever
Have you ever made someone smile? Not just a smile because you are being silly or cute. Not just a smile because they are trying to be polite or courteous. Have you ever made someone smile in such a way that you could feel that smile deep inside? Have you? Have you ever made someone cry? I don’t mean tears from the pain you caused them. I don’t mean tears from the way you hurt their feelings. Have you ever made someone cry tears of pure joy? Tears of heartfelt happiness. Have you? Have you ever made someone feel special? I don’t mean special like they need help that others may not need. Have you ever made someone feel like they are the most important people in your life, even if you had never met them before? Have you? Have you ever found the words in your heart to lift the heart of someone that had lost all hope? I’m not talking about quoting scriptures from the Bible, or even lines from a poem. Have you ever simply said what you felt in your heart and the words were magical, to say the least? Have you? Have you ever wished that you could have the power to make someone else’s dreams come true? I don’t mean the dreams of being the richest person in the world, the most beautiful or handsome. Have you ever wished that you could have the power to make a dream come true? Have you? Until you have helped someone with something that could never possibly pay you back, you cannot know these feelings. When a stranger is in trouble and you greet them with a smile, you can feel their smile. It is as if they are smiling at you and giving thanks to God at the same time. When they find out that a perfect stranger, a person even of a different race or ethnicity, has spent their own money, worked tirelessly to help them when no one else would, and wants absolutely nothing monetarily in return, they will shed tears of heartfelt happiness. They will feel like they are truly special not just to their family and friends, but special here on this earth the way it was intended for us all to feel. When you come to someone in a time of despair, when they feel there is no hope and they are stranded, you smile and assure them that you will not abandon them and will do all that you can to help them. Your words are like the music from an Angels harp, they will find comfort in them and feel safe once again. When you are finished and they are ready to get on their way, with a huge smile, and tears of joy, they will embrace you with a hug that you can feel all the way through to your soul, and they will thank you for answering their prayers. When they ask how they can ever repay you, you assure them it will be easy. Simply help someone else. If you see someone, anyone in need of help, help them. Pay it forward, you get what you give.
This world we live in today needs you, it needs you to care, it needs you to be selfless, and it needs all of us to help each other and be the change this world needs
