Sheep/Peer pressure

Are you in the click? You know the IN group. The popular people. Are you with the “haves”, or the “have not’s”? Or to put it more plainly, are you with the sheep, or are you with the people that think for themselves? I remember even when I was in grade school, lower elementary, there were some kids that were better than the rest to their delusional self-centered minds, and many of the rest were constantly trying to fit into that group. They would run up to them and try to start a conversation, only to be shunned and made a mockery of. They would try to dress like them, like the same things they liked, eat the same foods they ate, all in an effort to fit in and be accepted into this all-mighty group of entitled kids. I never fit into these groups, never tried. I ate the food I liked to eat, wore the clothes I liked to wear, did the things I liked to do. I remember if one of those kids decided they didn’t like someone, all they had to do was say so to someone else and it was like a domino effect. Before you knew it a lot of people for no real reason at all would dislike that same person. Simply because they wanted so much to be in that (IN) group, the follow-me sheep group. I thought as I got older that most of those kids would grow out of it and become normal self-thinking people that were no longer influenced by others. But it seems I was mistaken. The exact same mentality has followed me well up into my elder years. Someone can simply say they don’t like someone, and it doesn’t matter if their friends have a reason to not like that someone or not, they will also not like them simply to support their friend, even if it is wrong. People spew out hate and threats, encourage division and separation just like the kids in school. And all of those that want to fit in……. follow. One person can say this needs to be done and if that person is a person of any type of position or stature, most will follow and condemn those that do not. They have no real proof or even scientific data that will back up what the one is saying, yet they will follow and spread hate towards all that do not. When someone finds scientific data to contradict them, they are automatically liars and spread false information. Of course, science knows best as long as it says what they want it to say. Once it does not, the science is wrong or has been altered. You cannot win an argument with anyone that is beyond admitting they are wrong or made a mistake. Myself, I welcome it. I invite you to show me how I am wrong so that I can fix it. I don’t want to stay wrong, and I don’t want to encourage others to be wrong. I want to encourage others to think for themselves. Used to you could look something up and get the truth. Unfortunately, that isn’t so anymore. Those that wish to mislead people are changing the definitions. They are in control of your source of information, and they feed you what they want you to know. There was just published an article about the (fact-checkers) most of you are familiar with. When they faced a lawsuit for THEIR misinformation, they changed their (fact-checking) into their opinions and everyone but YOU is entitled to an opinion. You are either a sheep that follows everyone else or you are a person that uses the brain God gave you and you think for yourself. You may think following someone else will benefit you but guess what? If you get in trouble and call them, chances are, they won’t even answer the phone. You are in control of your life and the direction it goes. You are the leader your children look to for guidance. Don’t teach them to be sheep or even a leader of sheep, teach them to think for themselves and be responsible for the choices they make. If you really want to be in the in-group? Get inside your own mind and make your own choices. Be proud of who and what you are, not what someone else made you.
