“Hero”
Does it make you feel like a hero when you go above and beyond to help a stranger while ignoring and abandoning your own wife, children, or family? Does it make you feel like a hero when you belittle your wife, or your daughters, in front of others, even strangers? Does it make you feel like a hero when you beat them leaving them bruised, cut, and swollen? Does it make you feel like a hero when you destroy furniture, china, electronics, or anything within your reach? Does it make you feel like a hero when you punish a newborn baby for crying by spanking its bottom that is half the size of your hand? Do you feel proud when you look into their heartbroken eyes? Do you see their pain or is that the fuel that makes you feel stronger, superior, invincible? The next day you have either sobered up or just simply calmed down, expecting everyone else to act as if nothing ever happened. If they don’t show YOU love and respect, YOU feel insulted and it all starts over again. Your wife, your daughters, and your sons are broken. Even the dogs chained to a tree cower to the ground in your presence. Their spirits cry even though they smile. They bend over backward to please you while hiding their pain. Their happiness is no more than a dream when they close their eyes to sleep at night, as they tremble all night in fear that you may become angry with them. How can you possibly look at them, and look at yourself, and feel proud of what you see? How can you smile and laugh, how can you even sleep or eat? There are no words to describe what you are. I would not dare compare you to even one of God’s creatures. Calling you a coward would be an understatement. You do not deserve a family, you do not deserve to be called husband, or father. You do not deserve to be loved or respected. The only reason you should even breathe is due to the fact the very people you hurt love you and care about what happens to you.
It does not make you look good, strong, tough, or anything but evil when you mistreat those you claim to care about or love. Other people think that if you can be this way to your own wife and kids, what will you be like to them?
Do you want to be a hero? Be the kind of father ALL your children want to brag about to all they know. Be the kind of husband who stands up for his wife, shows all others she is his Queen, and rules equally with him and beside him. If you want to be a hero be the kind of man that sets good examples for all to see. Be a man others would emulate. You do not get to call yourself a hero just because. You earn it! And I can promise you, it will not be easy or cheap. It’s completely up to you. Be a lowly coward, or be as good as the best and better than the rest.
